A community support organization is seeking a Female Support Worker for an 18-year-old with Cri Du Chat Syndrome. The role requires flexibility with ad hoc hours, the use of own car, and experience in personal care. Hours per week: Ad hoc hours Saturdays and Sundays. Times to be arranged, flexibility needed. Extra hours may be available during school holidays.
Hourly pay rate: £15.00
I am looking for a Female Support Worker/PA to support my 18 year old daughter. She has a diagnosis of Cri Du Chat Syndrome which limits her mobility and speech. A knowledge of Makaton would be useful. She is a very energetic, sociable, happy, excitable young lady, great fun to be with and enjoys one to one interaction. You must be willing to use your own car to take her to social activities. Occasional evening supervision at home, watching TV or doing craft activities also required.
Support with personal care tasks required including toileting and changing, assistance with taking medication. Lifting wheelchair in/out of car, pushing wheelchair on occasions. You should have experience of working with young people with similar needs and be friendly, fun, patient, reliable and comfortable with pets.
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours.
