Female Personal Assistant - Private Employer. This job is advertised on behalf of an individual person, and they will be the employer.

Hours: flexible as care is provided at various times of the day, seven days a week in a family home in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire.

Position Details
  • Part-time permanent position, 10 hours per week (subject to a 6‑month probationary period).
  • Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour.
  • Requirements: Female, non‑smoker, clean driving licence.
  • Experience: Social care preferred – 1+ years or willingness to learn.
Role & Responsibilities
  • Care for a female with spinal bifida and hydrocephalus, wheelchair user, who enjoys socialising and going to the cinema, and is open to new activities.
  • Provide full support with personal care: washing, showering, bathing, dressing, catheter care, bowel management, hygiene and other reasonable requirements.
  • Assist with meal preparation, develop cooking skills, balanced diet, and light household duties.
  • Accompany and support social activities both inside and outside the home.
  • Assist with using local community resources such as the gym, cinema and shopping.
  • Help maintain relationships with friends and family; assist with social outings and ensure safety.
  • Administer medication on time and log on medication sheets.
  • Support attending appointments (GP, chemist, hospital, hairdresser, beauty salon, dentist).
  • Confident and competent driver for social outings and hospital appointments.
Qualifications & Expectations
  • Experience supporting young adults with physical disabilities is desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile and assist in leading an independent life.
  • Good timekeeper, flexible regarding hours, able to work extra hours as required.
  • Confident driver with clean licence.
