Job description

We require 1 or 2 Experienced Female Care Assistants to help support a young lady with severe health conditions including learning difficulties and epilepsy, who requires 24/7 care on a 2:1 basis.

The hours available are 40 night-time hours per week which could be 2 x 20 hours per PA plus extra hours to cover holidays and sickness of other staff members. Please note the lady lives in her family home in Cayton, Scarborough.

The PA must have access to a car as there is little public transport available.

The daytime shifts are: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: 8 pm till 6 am.

The rate of pay is £14.70 per hour and bank holiday rate is £22.05 per hour.

It is essential that the successful applicant should have some knowledge of epilepsy and learning difficulties.

It would be preferable to have first aid, moving and handling and administration of medication.

You will be occasionally asked to help cover extra monitoring for seizures which can be unpredictable and severe and require 2.1 care staff when they occur.

Exception Under The Equality Act (2010) – the post is only open to female applicants due to the personal assistance required.
