Job summary

Serco Limited is recruiting a Facilities Assistant for Wyndley Leisure Centre in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. The role is part-time with a 15-hour week and duties include preparing facilities, maintaining cleanliness, and delivering excellent customer service to centre users.

The position supports Birmingham Community Leisure Trust, offering DBS checks, training, and staff benefits. The role requires a proactive, customer-focused approach and adherence to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and respond to enquiries in a friendly, professional manner.

• Monitor facilities and report issues to the Duty Manager.
• Promote the centre's products and services to help customers find activities.
• Follow health and safety procedures and risk assessments while working.

Location: Wyndley Leisure Centre, Sutton Coldfield, B73 6EB

Salary: £13.45 per hour plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Part-time 15 hours per week, Week 1 Monday, Tuesday and Saturday Week 2 Wednesday and Thursday. Working hours 3pm - 9pm weekdays and 9am - 2.30pm weekends.

What you’ll do as a Facilities Assistant

• - Deliver excellent customer service and respond to customer enquiries in a friendly and professional manner
• - Set up and dismantle equipment and spaces for a range of activities, events and bookings
• - Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the centre, including changing rooms, toilets and customer areas
• - Monitor facilities and report any maintenance issues or defects to the Duty Manager
• - Promote the centre's products and services and help customers find activities that meet their needs
• - Follow all health and safety procedures, safe systems of work and risk assessments while carrying out duties

Vetting and checks:

This role requires a Basic DBS check, which will disclose any unspent convictions in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
