Job summary

Serco is recruiting on behalf of Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT) to join Beacon Sports Centre as an Operations Assistant. You will help ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient running of the centre, supporting customers from entry to exit and maintaining facilities to high standards.

The role involves health and safety checks, stock control, and delivering excellent service in a busy leisure setting.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Fitness Instructor or equivalent (desirable)
• First Aid Training (desirable or willing to work towards it)
• Experience in a customer-facing environment, ideally in leisure, tourism, hospitality or similar
• Strong communication and customer care skills
• Good organisational and planning abilities with attention to detail
• Confident working independently and as part of a team
• Professional, positive and approachable attitude with commitment to high standards

• Deliver excellent customer service and support visitors
• Maintain high cleanliness standards across the site

Salary: £8.84 to 12.71 per hour plus excellent benefits plus excellent benefits

As an Operations Assistant in our Sport England team, you’ll help ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient running of Beacon Sports Centre. From supporting customers and maintaining facilities to carrying out operational checks, your work will play an important role in creating a positive experience for everyone who uses the centre.

This is a varied and hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You’ll support leisure, hotel and event operations while helping to maintain high standards across the site. Whether you're welcoming customers, carrying out safety checks or ensuring facilities are clean, safe and ready for use, your work has purpose and helps create a positive impact on the local community.

What You’ll Do As An Operations Assistant

Vetting And Checks

A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
