Job description

Following the recent success in recruiting a new supervisor to this role, we our now looking for a further supervisor to join our great team.

You will be joining a dynamic and enthusiastic team who work in close partnership with colleagues in our Estates and Facilities Division.

We are looking for a confident, natural leader to work as part of our Facilities Management Team. The post holder will directly manage resources and supervise the Housekeeping Team in maintaining a clean, safe environment for our patients, staff and visitors.

You will work in unity with the other team supervisors to contribute to, and build, a team ethos, develop our housekeeping staff, support their training and deliver a first class service.

Full training will be provided to support you and underpin your own career development.

We currently work a permanent shift pattern, over a 7 day rota, which includes early, late, weekends, bank holidays and night shifts.

Contract hours/days will be discussed at interview.

Rotating shifts are also a future possibility dependant on individuals and service needs.

Main duties of the job

Motivating and supporting the Team in the provision of a high quality service, holding team meetings and maintaining mandatory training and appraisal compliance.

Qualifications
  • Evidence of satisfactory general education
  • Evidence of relevant knowledge and skills to NVQ4/diploma equivalent level to include: Supervisory Management training Managing cleaning services. Food Hygiene Risk assessment
  • To undertake required additional departmental training in post
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Membership of British Institute of Cleaning
  • Science (BICS) or other relevant Institute/Association
Experience
  • At least one year supervisory management experience.
  • Supervising staff and supporting staff development.
  • Supervision of cleaning services.
  • At least one year experience in supervisory management within a healthcare environment.
  • Working within a facilities / support services environment.
  • Managing Health & Safety/Food Safety
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Problem solving.
  • Cleaning practices related to infection control and decontamination
Other
  • Basic knowledge of general health & safety
