Job summary

Mitie Group is seeking a technically competent Facilities Manager to oversee integrated FM services across the Thales account in Templecombe. The role is based on-site, responsible for hard and soft FM deliverables, client liaison, and driving operational excellence across a high-profile estate.

You will lead on-site teams, manage budgets and ensure statutory compliance, health and safety standards, and governance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering both hard and soft FM in a client-facing, multi-site environment.
• Strong technical background in M&E, building services and engineering.
• Relevant qualification such as HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent understanding of statutory compliance, including HVAC and electrical systems.
• Experience managing multi-site portfolios with a hands-on, solutions-driven approach.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and driving efficiencies.
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (desirable).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of hard FM services (M&E, compliance, PPM, reactive maintenance) and soft FM services.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, health and safety standards, and best practice.
• Serve as primary point of contact for Thales stakeholders and maintain client relationships.
• Lead, motivate and develop on-site teams and subcontractors.
• Oversee asset management, lifecycle planning and maintenance strategies.
• Manage budgets, drive cost efficiencies and identify value-add opportunities.
• Monitor KPIs and SLAs; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Produce operational reports, support audits and ensure governance and compliance.
• Support mobilisation activities and project delivery as required.

The Role

Mitie is seeking a technically competent and commercially astute Facilities Manager to oversee the delivery of integrated Facilities Management services across the Thales account in Templecombe.

This role is primarily based in Templecombe. You will take ownership of both hard and soft FM services, acting as a key client interface and driving operational excellence across a varied and high-profile estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of hard FM services (M&E, compliance, PPM, reactive maintenance) and soft FM services (cleaning, security, waste, catering, etc.)
• Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety standards, and industry best practice
• Act as the primary point of contact for Thales stakeholders, building strong, trusted client relationships
• Lead, motivate, and develop on-site teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure high performance
• Oversee asset management, lifecycle planning, and maintenance strategies across the portfolio
• Manage budgets effectively, driving cost efficiencies and identifying value-add opportunities
• Monitor and report on KPIs and SLAs, implementing continuous improvement initiatives
• Produce operational reports, support audits, and ensure robust governance and compliance standards
• Support mobilisation activities and project delivery across the account as required

About You

• Proven experience delivering both hard and soft FM services in a client-facing, multi-site environment
• Strong technical background (e.g. Engineering, M&E, Building Services) – essential
• Relevant qualification such as HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent understanding of statutory compliance, including HVAC, electrical systems, and building services
• Experience managing multi-site portfolios with a hands-on, solutions-driven approach
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
