Facade Engineer

Location: Manchester

Contract Type: Permanent / Full-Time

The Opportunity

A role is available for a Facade Engineer to work on the technical development and delivery of building envelope systems across a variety of projects. This position suits someone with a strong technical background who enjoys working closely with design and construction teams to deliver high‑performing facade solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop facade and envelope designs from concept to construction stage
• Engineer facade systems including glazing, curtain walling, cladding, and rainscreen assemblies
• Assess structural integrity, thermal performance, air and water tightness
• Produce calculations, reports, specifications, and detailed technical documentation
• Liaise with architects, contractors, and specialist suppliers throughout the project lifecycle
• Review technical submissions, drawings, and material proposals
• Provide technical support during site works and respond to design queries
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and project criteria

Candidate Profile

• Degree-qualified in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline
• Experience working with facade or building envelope systems
• Solid knowledge of materials, fixings, interfaces, and installation methods
• Familiarity with relevant design codes and performance testing
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Involvement in complex or large‑scale projects
• Knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, or facade performance modeling
