Job Description: Barnsley Recruitment Services are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator/Welder to join our client's busy manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components with precision, ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in various welding techniques, particularly TIG welding, to contribute to our innovative projects and production processes.

Pay - Up to £16.20 per hour dependent on experience

Duties
  • Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques on various materials, including sheet metal and structural components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Operate fabrication machinery safely and efficiently, maintaining equipment in good working order.
  • Assist in the assembly of fabricated components, ensuring proper fit and finish.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and resolve technical issues promptly.
Experience
  • Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards.
  • Demonstrable expertise in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment for sheet metal work.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical principles related to fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic math calculations for measurements and tolerances.
  • Experience working with sheet metal, structural steel, or similar materials preferred.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures related to welding and fabrication environments.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or workshop setting is advantageous but not essential for highly motivated candidates eager to learn.
