Job summary

A manufacturing company in Huddersfield is seeking a Fabrication Workshop Operative to support metal fabrication activities. Responsibilities include grinding, trimming, rolling, and polishing components, as well as general laboring. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, willing to learn, and able to work safely with tools. This role offers training and a supportive team environment, with opportunities for overtime. Candidates with or without fabrication experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Fabrication Workshop Operative – Factory Based

Location: Huddersfield

Rate: £14.00 p/h

Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:30am – 4:15pm, 37 hours p/w

About the Role: We are looking for a motivated Fabrication Workshop Operative to join our team, supporting a range of metal fabrication and workshop activities. The role will involve grinding, trimming, rolling, pressing, and polishing fabricated components, as well as general labouring duties to maintain an efficient and safe workshop environment. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grinding and trimming fabricated and machined components using angle grinders and air tools.
  • Rolling and pressing fabrications.
  • Metal polishing and finishing.
  • Use of overhead cranes for lifting and slinging.
  • General workshop duties such as tidying and moving jobs.
  • Working safely and following company procedures at all times.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a fabrication or workshop environment is desirable but not essential; training provided.
  • Ability to work safely with hand and power tools.
  • Physically fit and able to lift, sling, and move fabricated components.
  • Flexible and willing to assist with a variety of workshop tasks.
