Job summary

GM Performance Power Units seeks a Sensor Actuator Assurance Engineer in Wakefield to develop and maintain procedures verifying the accuracy, reliability, and service worthiness of sensors and actuators used in PU control systems. The role supports both laboratory and Formula 1 track operations, ensuring devices meet performance and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in electronics in motorsport/high-performance environments.
• Experience managing and maintaining mission-critical devices.
• Strong understanding of sensors and actuators physics and operation.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods and procedures aligned with manufacturer recommendations and standards.
• Design protective storage and handling procedures to preserve device integrity.
• Create and execute non-destructive evaluation methods with complete records.
• Collaborate with Data Analysis and PLM to correlate usage with reliability.
• Assist selection of sensors/actuators for PU applications with Electronics Systems Engineering.
• Execute assurance testing and produce statistical fleet reports.
• Engage suppliers on performance issues and supply chain concerns.
