Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Leicester seeks a Sensor Actuator Assurance Engineer to develop and maintain methods for verifying sensors and actuators used in PU control systems, supporting lab and track operations, ensuring devices meet performance and safety requirements.

You will design test methods, handle data, and collaborate with electronics teams to improve reliability and track performance, with opportunities to influence a next-generation Formula 1 power unit program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years in electronics within motorsport or high-performance environments.
• Experience managing mission-critical devices and data-driven testing.
• Knowledge of sensors/actuators physics and operating principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods and procedures aligned with standards to assess sensor/actuator reliability.
• Design protective storage and handling procedures to preserve device integrity.
• Create documented evaluation methods and maintain records of results.
• Collaborate with Data Analysis and PLM to correlate usage with reliability outcomes.
• Assist in selecting sensors/actuators for PU applications with engineering teams.
• Execute assurance testing and produce statistical fleet reports.
