GM Performance Power Units in Crawley, UK, seeks a Sensor Actuator Assurance Engineer to develop and maintain methods verifying sensors and actuators for PU control systems used in Formula 1. The role supports both laboratory and trackside operations, ensuring devices meet performance and safety requirements throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience with electronics in motorsport/high-performance environments.
• Proven experience managing and maintaining mission critical devices.
• Strong understanding of the physics and operating principles of sensors and actuators.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with MATLAB and statistical analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods and procedures aligned with manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
• Design protective storage solutions and handling/installation procedures.
• Create and execute non-destructive evaluation methods; maintain records.
• Collaborate with Data Analysis and PLM teams to correlate usage with reliability.
• Assist in sensor/actuator selection for PU applications with engineering teams.
• Execute assurance testing; document results and produce statistical reports.
• Engage suppliers on performance issues and supply chain concerns as needed.
