Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in High Wycombe seeks a Sensor Actuator Assurance Engineer to verify accuracy, reliability, and safety of sensors and actuators in our Formula 1 power unit control systems.

You will develop testing methods, collaborate with Data Analysis and PLM teams, and support dyno tests and trackside events to ensure devices meet performance standards throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of electronics experience in motorsport or high-performance environments.
• Experience managing mission-critical devices.
• Strong understanding of sensors and actuators physics.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods and procedures aligned with manufacturer recommendations, industry standards, and PU use cases.
• Design protective storage and handling procedures to preserve device integrity.
• Create non-destructive evaluation methods and maintain complete records.
• Collaborate with Data Analysis and PLM to correlate usage with reliability.
• Support sensor/actuator selection with Electronics Systems Engineering and PU Design.
• Execute assurance testing and produce statistical reports on fleet condition and trends.
• Engage suppliers on performance issues and supply chain concerns as needed.
