A regional charity organization is seeking an experienced External Public Affairs Lead to develop and deliver advocacy strategies across Northern Ireland and Scotland. You will manage relationships with government officials and oversee influential communications. A degree and relevant experience, especially within the political landscape, are essential. This role offers a 1-year fixed term contract, with potential for extension.
Honeycomb is partnering with a UK regional charity to recruit an experienced External Public Affairs Lead - NI and Scotland on a 1 year fixed term contract. Travel between Northern Ireland and Scotland is required.
The Client - This regional UK charity carries a mission to end the harm, abuse and exploitation of older people. With over 30 years of experience, the charity advocates for its service users and educates the public by promoting prevention of harm via a helpline and wider support services.
There is an immediate requirement for a passionate and professional individual to lead advocacy in a variety of settings, including where statutory officials are present. The contract may be extended beyond the initial 1 year, depending on its criticality to the charity’s mission.
The Role - Reporting to the Deputy CEO, duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Development and delivery of the charity’s external affairs policy and campaign strategies by engaging and informing partners, influencers and parliamentarians across Northern Ireland and Scotland. The role will manage top-level statutory, third sector and political liaison at an operational level and understand the needs of each nation as well as government agendas.
