Job description

Beacon View Vets, Eastry, Kent (CT13 0HE)

Salary:£48,000–£85,000 DOE (pro rata for part-time)

No OOH | Time to work cases up | Advanced diagnostics on site

A role designed around great veterinary medicine, and a great working life

We are looking for an experienced Vet to join our independent, award-winning team at Beacon View Vets. This role would suit a vet from a few years qualified through to certificate holder or advanced practitioner level who wants the time, support and autonomy to practice high-quality, evidence-based veterinary medicine in a genuinely supportive environment.

We are happy to shape this role around the right person. Full-time or part-time options are available, and many of our vets work bespoke arrangements that fit their lives.

What it’s like to be a vet at Beacon View

At Beacon View, the clinical day is designed to allow you to do your job properly.

You will have:

  • Minimum of 20-minute consultations as standard, with protected admin time
  • Strong, experienced RVN support who genuinely enhances case flow
  • Time and autonomy to work cases up properly and practice evidence-based medicine
  • A varied caseload, including advanced diagnostics and procedures in house
  • An organised, well-run day with clear handovers and respect for your time
  • A genuinely collaborative team where vets, RVNs and client care work closely together to support patients, clients and each other

We recognise that great vets have different strengths, and we’re open to shaping the role around your interests, including a consult-focused role if that’s where you do your best work.

You’ll work with proactive, engaged clients who value thoughtful discussion, trust clinical recommendations, and support appropriate diagnostics and treatment plans.

Our independence gives us the freedom to focus on what matters most: good medicine, thoughtful decision-making, and a sustainable working environment for our team. It allows us to invest in people and equipment, adapt roles as interests evolve, and respond quickly to ideas from within the practice.

We believe excellent medicine comes from good systems, calm decision-making, and a team that supports one another.

Clinical environment and facilities

We have invested heavily in our people and our facilities to support high clinical standards without referral-centre pressure.

Our equipment and facilities include:

  • A modern, design award winning practice, with a brand new clinical building
  • In-house CT scanner
  • Advanced ultrasound with live guided VVS station
  • Laparoscopy and endoscopy
  • New dental suite with dental radiography as standard
  • Dedicated theatres and modern wards
  • Orthopaedic and arthroscopic equipment
  • Visiting and remote specialist support
  • Separate cat and dog wards and consulting rooms
  • ISFM Gold Cat Friendly and Dog Friendly accreditation

This allows most cases to be diagnosed and treated in house, providing a varied caseload and making advanced care available to local pets.

Culture, support and development

The team is what makes Beacon View special. We are a close-knit, friendly group who take our work seriously but also look after one another.

We are proud of what the team has built at Beacon View. Our leadership and culture have been recognised through multiple industry awards, including Inspiring New Practice, Outstanding Leadership, and a recent Highly Commended recognition from SPVS for Leadership and Management.

For us, these awards matter because they reflect how we invest in our people, listen to our team, and build a practice that is clinically strong, kind, and sustainable.

You will be supported by:

  • A collaborative vet team with multiple certificate holders
  • An advanced practitioner in soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics
  • A psychologically safe culture where questions, ideas and feedback are welcomed
  • Experienced and passionate client care and RVN teams
  • Directors who are present, approachable, and involved in the day-to-day running of the practice

Development is not an afterthought here. Every vet has a clear development pathway, regular appraisals, and access to coaching and mentoring.

“I feel really grateful to be part of such a great team. Everyone is dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary care for both patients and their humans. What I value most is working somewhere that genuinely champions development, both personally and as a practice. From regular training and clinical discussions to investing in new equipment, there’s a shared drive to keep improving and to deliver care we can be proud of.”

- Sarah, Veterinary Surgeon

“Since moving to Beacon View, I feel like I’ve rekindled my love of veterinary nursing. Being part of a compassionate, empathetic team of like-minded people makes a huge difference. There’s a real sense of purpose here, and it’s obvious from the moment you walk through the doors that the animals are truly cared for, not just treated.”

- Rachel, Registered Veterinary Nurse

Work-life balance that is genuinely protected
  • No out-of-hours
  • No more than 1 in 5 weekends, morning consults only
  • 5 weeks holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Full-time or part-time working patterns
  • A culture that respects start times, finish times and the importance of proper downtime

We believe sustainability is essential for long, happy veterinary careers.

The package
  • Salary £48,000–£85,000 DOE (pro rata for part-time)
  • Uncapped CPD allowance, and certificate support
  • Existing CPD debt can be covered
  • RCVS, VDS and additional professional memberships paid
  • Pension, and salary sacrifice schemes
  • BUPA Employee Wellbeing Programme
  • Generous staff discounts
  • Regular team events, social activities and team development sessions
Who we are looking for

You will be an MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with experience in companion animal practice. You will value teamwork, clear communication and high clinical standards, and you will want to work in a place where your voice matters and your development is supported.

Most importantly, you will align with our values of compassion, teamwork, accountability and embracing the adventure.
