Job summary

A premier events venue in Scotland is seeking an experienced Event Manager to lead the coordination and management of live entertainment events. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety standards and delivering a successful event experience for all stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a degree in Event Management or relevant experience, and recognised project management qualifications. This permanent role is vital for maintaining the venue's reputation as one of Europe's leading event locations.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Purple Guide and Technical Standards for Places of Entertainment.
  • Experience in operational management within an event or venue environment.
  • Experience in a multi-agency and stakeholder environment.

Event Manager Live Entertainment - Scottish Event Campus

Comprising the SEC Centre, SEC Armadillo and the OVO Hydro, the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is Scotland's premier venue for events, gigs, conferences, and exhibitions. We enjoy an enviable reputation as one of Europe's most prestigious venues with the OVO Hydro consistently ranked in the top 3 busiest venues in the world, attracting over 2 million visitors per year.

Responsibilities
  • The Event Management Team leads the end-to-end event management process, championing the continuous development of planning procedures and ways of working. They ensure full compliance with all relevant licensing conditions, company policies, and industry best practices, while proactively adapting to new developments in the field.
  • On event days, you will lead the onsite delivery of the event, working as a key member of the Event Control Room structure, working closely with the allocated Safety Officer to deliver a safe and successful event while creating the best experience for all fans, artists and performers.

Skills

  • Experience of operational management in event and/or venue environment, working at a bronze or silver command level.
  • Experience of working within a multi-agency and stakeholder environment.
  • Educated to degree level and/or have equivalent significant experience in Event or Venue Management roles.
  • Recognised Project Management qualification.
  • Professional qualifications such as NVQ Spectator Safety, NAA Professional Certificate, NEBOSH / IOSH or relevant equivalent.
