Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is a leading facilities management company providing security, cleaning and catering services across the UK. We seek a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, staff and stock in a busy store.

Working Wed-Sun, 15:00–23:00, you will deter theft, patrol premises, monitor CCTV, conduct searches as needed, and report incidents with professionalism. A customer-focused, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA license for DS or Security Guarding is required.
• Strong observational skills to identify suspicious behaviour.
• Calm, professional handling of difficult situations.
• Excellent verbal and written reporting and communication.

Responsibilities

• Act as a visible security presence and deter theft and anti-social behaviour.
• Carry out regular patrols and respond to incidents promptly.
• Monitor CCTV and security equipment to identify threats.
• Carry out searches in line with policy and escalate as needed.
• Prepare accurate incident and observation reports for management.
• Provide courteous assistance to customers and staff.
• De-escalate confrontations and ensure safety of all.
• Ensure compliance with site procedures and legal requirements.
