Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is hiring a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, staff and stock in a busy retail environment. You will deter theft, patrol the store, monitor CCTV, and respond to incidents in accordance with company policies.

A strong emphasis on professional customer service and safety is essential. The role requires flexibility for varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, with a focus on de-escalation and compliant incident reporting to support a secure shopping

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding) required.
• Strong observational skills to identify suspicious behaviour.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Act as a visible security presence and deter theft.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor CCTV.
• Carry out searches in accordance with policy when required.
• Respond to alarms promptly and escalate to management or law enforcement.
• Prepare detailed incident and observation reports.
• Liaise with store management to address security concerns.
• Provide professional customer service to staff and customers.
• De-escalate confrontations calmly; ensure compliance with procedures.
