Role Overview

This role is essential for supporting the sales team with technical enquiries, providing accurate cost estimates for bespoke solutions, and working directly with clients to develop custom specifications. The successful candidate will leverage their engineering knowledge to deliver precise quotations and technical designs that meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the sales team with technical enquiries, providing clear and accurate advice.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for bespoke and standard tanks, including materials, labour, and production costs.
• Engage directly with clients to understand their technical requirements and build bespoke specifications.
• Use CAD software to produce accurate drawings for bespoke tanks, standard tanks, and associated components.
• Create and maintain Item master data, bills of Materials & routings for custom and standard products in SAP.
• Assist with departmental tasks, including rework orders, engineering change requests, and technical document control.
• Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost‑effective.
• Conduct technical discussions with clients and sales team members, addressing complex specifications and customisation needs.
• Maintain and update technical data within SAP for accurate costing and specification management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, product enhancements, and cost‑saving measures.

Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Experience in cost estimating, technical sales support, or engineering design.
• Excellent communication skills for client interactions and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for technical data management.
• A proactive and solutions‑oriented mindset.
