We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Cambria, our prison education provider at HMP Berwyn, working as an Essential Skills Numeracy Tutor. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

HMP Prison Berwyn is a Category C prison in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It accommodates a male population. It is the largest prison in the UK, opened in 2017, and is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to have/demonstrate:

• A degree or equivalent subject specialist qualification
• A teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent
• QTS / QTLS (Desirable, but not essential)
• Minimum level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy
• Experience delivering Functional Maths, Basic Skills, Key Skills and/or Essential Skills Application of Number
• Experience producing accurate and timely reports
• Experience creating a positive contribution to establishment planning & development processes
• An ability to fulfil delivery targets and plans
• A good track record of achieving quality targets, including those related to learner achievement, inclusion, progression and destination
• Positive team working
• A good track record of achieving 'Good' or above in Teaching Observations
