Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging ESOL lessons to individuals or small groups
- Assess learners' needs and progress, adapting teaching methods accordingly
- Support learners in developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
- Prepare learners for ESOL exams or progression into further education or employment
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievements
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements
- CELTA, CertTESOL or Level 5 ESOL qualification (essential)
- Experience teaching ESOL to adult learners (community, FE, or private sector experience welcomed)
- Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
- Cultural sensitivity and a genuine passion for teaching and learner success
- Ability to work independently and flexibly
Desirable
- Experience working with refugees, asylum seekers, or migrant communities
- Ability to deliver online lessons (via Zoom, Teams, etc.)
- Multilingual or experience learning another language
