Job summary

GM Performance Power Units is seeking an ESME Application Engineer to join our Concord/Charlotte area team. You will lead manufacturing process design for Energy Store and ESME, ensuring safe and high-quality assembly of high-performance battery systems.

You must program industrial robots, use 3D CAD tools, and drive continuous improvement in a multidisciplinary setting. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in battery pack assembly, strong CAD skills (CATIA/NX/SolidWorks), and a proactive, independent

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
2+ years of battery pack assembly engineering experience.
Experience programming industrial robots.
Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or similar).
Strong verbal and written communication in a multidisciplinary team.
Self-driven with ability to lead projects independently.
Experience in automotive/high-performance industries is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Lead design and optimization of manufacturing processes for Energy Store and ESME.
Design and analyze production processes ensuring personnel safety.
Develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures with QA.
Contribute to design process to achieve Built-In Quality.
Conduct root cause analysis and document learnings.
Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
Document assembly process developments and innovations clearly.
Collaborate with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor on standards.
