Job summary

GM Performance Power Units seeks an ESME Application Engineer to lead the design and optimization of manufacturing processes for Energy Store systems (ES and ESME). The role focuses on safe, high-quality assembly, processes, and documentation within a cross-functional team in Concord, NC.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background, 2+ years in battery pack assembly, robotics programming experience, and proficiency in CATIA/NX/SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in battery pack assembly engineering.
• Experience programming industrial robots.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks or similar).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Self-driven with ability to lead projects independently.
• Experience in automotive/high-performance industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and optimization of ES/ESME manufacturing processes.
• Design and analyze production processes for safety.
• Develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures.
• Contribute to design process to achieve Built-In Quality.
• Perform root cause analysis and document learnings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
• Communicate assembly developments clearly.
• Work with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor to uphold standards.
