Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking an experienced ESME Application Engineer to help safely build high‑performance battery systems with quality at the core. You will lead manufacturing process design for Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME) and drive continuous improvement across assembly lines.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's in engineering and 2+ years in battery pack assembly, plus CAD proficiency (CATIA/NX/SolidWorks) and robot programming experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
2+ years in battery pack assembly engineering.
Experience programming industrial robots and using CAD tools.

Responsibilities

Lead design and optimization of ES/ESME manufacturing processes.
Analyze production processes with emphasis on personnel safety.
Collaborate with Quality to develop in-process and end-of-line QA procedures.
Contribute to ES/ESME design for Built-In Quality.
Perform root cause analysis and document learnings.
Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
Document and communicate assembly process developments clearly.
Coordinate with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor.
