Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC seeks an ESME Application Engineer to lead the design and optimization of the manufacturing process for Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME). You will work to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency across assembly lines while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

The ideal candidate holds a engineering degree, has 2+ years in battery pack assembly, robot programming experience, and strong CAD skills (CATIA/NX/SolidWorks).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant battery pack assembly engineering experience.
• Experience programming industrial robots.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Self-driven with ability to lead projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and optimization of the manufacturing process for Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME).
• Design and analyze production processes to ensure personnel safety.
• Develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures with QA for assembly processes.
• Contribute to the design process to achieve Built-In Quality.
• Conduct root cause analysis and document learnings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
• Document assembly process developments and communicate innovations clearly.
