Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC, is seeking an ESME Application Engineer to lead the design and optimization of manufacturing processes for the Energy Store and Energy Store Main Enclosure. You will ensure safety, drive quality procedures, and contribute to product design improvements.

The role requires 2+ years in battery pack assembly, robotics programming, and strong CAD skills (CATIA/NX/SolidWorks).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
2+ years of battery pack assembly engineering experience.
Experience programming industrial robots.
Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Self-driven with ability to lead projects independently.
Experience in automotive, aerospace, motorsport, or related high-performance sectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead design and optimization of manufacturing processes for Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME).
Design and analyze production processes with safety at the forefront.
Collaborate with Quality to develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures.
Contribute to design of ES and ESME to achieve Built-In Quality.
Conduct root cause analysis and communicate findings; document learnings.
Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
Document and communicate assembly process developments clearly.
Work with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor to meet standards.
