Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC seeks a skilled ESME Application Engineer to lead the manufacturing design and optimization of Energy Store components. You will ensure safe production processes and collaborate with Quality on end-of-line procedures while contributing to the ES/ESME design for Built-In Quality.

The role calls for 2+ years in battery-pack assembly, robotics programming, and strong CAD proficiency (CATIA/NX/SolidWorks). Automotive/high‑performance experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of battery pack assembly engineering experience.
• Experience programming industrial robots.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Excellent verbal and written communication with ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Self-driven with ability to lead projects independently.
• Experience in automotive, aerospace, motorsport, or other high-performance industries is a strong plus but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of the ES/ESME manufacturing process.
• Design and analyze production processes to ensure personnel safety.
• Collaborate with Quality to develop in-process and end‑of‑line quality procedures.
• Contribute to the design process of ES and ESME to achieve Built‑In Quality.
• Conduct root cause analysis and document learnings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
• Document and communicate assembly process developments and innovations clearly.
• Work with the ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor to ensure adherence to standards.
