Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC seeks a skilled ESME Application Engineer to join our engineering team. You will help build high‑performance battery systems and lead manufacturing process design for the Energy Store and ESME, ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 2+ years in battery pack assembly, robot programming, and CAD proficiency (CATIA/NX/SolidWorks). You’ll work cross‑functionally to deliver Built‑In Quality and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
2+ years in battery pack assembly engineering.
Experience programming industrial robots.
Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
Excellent verbal and written communication with multidisciplinary teams.
Self-driven with ability to lead projects independently.

Responsibilities

Lead design and optimization of manufacturing process for Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME).
Design and analyze production processes to ensure personnel safety.
Develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures with QA for various assembly processes.
Contribute to design process of ES and ESME to achieve Built-In Quality.
Conduct root cause analysis and document learnings.
