Job summary

GM Performance Power Units is seeking an ESME Application Engineer to join our Concord, NC team. You will lead the design and optimization of manufacturing processes for the Energy Store and ESME, focusing on safety, quality, and process efficiency.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 2+ years in battery pack assembly, robotics programming, and strong CAD skills with CATIA/NX/SolidWorks. Collaboration across disciplines and hands-on innovation are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
2+ years in battery pack assembly engineering.
Experience programming industrial robots.
Proficient in 3D CAD tools (CATIA/NX/SolidWorks).
Strong verbal and written communication in multidisciplinary teams.
Self-driven with ability to lead projects independently.
Experience in automotive, aerospace or motorsport is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Lead design and optimization of manufacturing processes for the Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME).
Design and analyze production processes to ensure personnel safety at all times.
Collaborate with Quality to develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures.
Contribute to the design process to achieve Built-In Quality for ES/ESME.
Perform root cause analysis and document learnings.
Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
Document and communicate assembly process developments and innovations clearly.
Coordinate with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor on safety and quality standards.
