Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking an ESME Application Engineer to lead the design and optimization of manufacturing processes for the Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME). You will ensure safe, high-quality production and contribute to Built-In Quality.

You will program industrial robots, develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures, and document assembly innovations while collaborating with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor to meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of battery pack assembly engineering experience.
• Experience programming industrial robots.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Strong verbal and written communication across multidisciplinary teams.
• Self-driven with ability to lead projects independently.
• Experience in automotive/high-performance sectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of manufacturing processes for ES/ESME.
• Design and analyze production processes ensuring personnel safety.
• Develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures with Quality Department.
• Contribute to design process to achieve Built-In Quality.
• Conduct root cause analysis and document learnings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
• Document and communicate assembly process developments and innovations.
• Collaborate with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor on standards.
