Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking an ESME Application Engineer to lead the manufacture and integration of Energy Store components and enclosures. You will drive process design, safety, and quality while working across engineering teams to optimize assembly flows.

The role requires a degree in engineering, 2+ years in battery pack assembly, and experience with robotics programming and 3D CAD tools. This is a hands-on, project-lead position in a high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• 2+ years of battery pack assembly engineering experience.
• Experience programming industrial robots and running automation.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks or similar).
• Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork.
• Ability to lead projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of manufacturing processes for ES and ESME.
• Ensure safety and quality in production processes and assembly.
• Collaborate with Quality to develop in-process and end-of-line procedures.
• Contribute to design of ES and ESME for Built-In Quality.
• Perform root cause analysis and document learnings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
• Communicate assembly developments clearly to the team.
• Coordinate with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor for standards.
