Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC seeks an ESME Application Engineer to lead manufacturing design for the Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME). You will drive process optimization, safety, and quality across assembly lines, collaborating with Quality, ERS Assembly, and HV Safety teams.

The role requires a strong background in battery pack assembly, robotics, and CAD; expect cross-functional collaboration in a high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience in battery pack assembly engineering.
• Experience programming industrial robots.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Self-driven with ability to lead projects independently.
• Experience in automotive, aerospace, motorsport, or other high-performance industries is a strong plus but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and optimization of the manufacturing process of the Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME).
• Design and analyze production processes to ensure personnel safety at all times.
• Develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures with Quality Department.
• Contribute to the design process of ES and ESME to achieve Built-In Quality.
• Conduct root cause analysis and document learnings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
• Document and communicate assembly process developments clearly.
• Work with ERS Assembly Manager and HV Safety Supervisor to ensure standards.
