Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Sheffield is seeking an ESME Application Engineer to join our engineering team. You will lead design and optimization of manufacturing for the Energy Store and Energy Store Main Enclosure, focusing on safety, quality, and Built-In Quality.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 2+ years in battery pack assembly engineering, plus experience with industrial robots and 3D CAD (CATIA/NX/SolidWorks).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience in battery pack assembly engineering.
• Experience programming industrial robots.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of manufacturing processes for Energy Store (ES) and Energy Store Main Enclosure (ESME).
• Design and analyze production processes to ensure personnel safety.
• Develop in-process and end-of-line quality procedures with QA.
• Contribute to design of ES/ESME for Built-In Quality.
• Perform root-cause analysis and communicate findings.
• Create and maintain manufacturing operation work instructions.
• Document and communicate assembly process developments.
