Job summary

Müller UK & Ireland invites applications for an Employee Relations Partner. Based in Bridgwater or Stroud, this hybrid role combines ER case work with strategic data insights to improve people outcomes. You will support managers, collaborate with Legal Counsel, and drive compliance with UK employment law.

We value experience across all levels, strong stakeholder relations, and the ability to influence at all levels. 40-hour week, with some travel and a 12-month secondment/FTC.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing employee relations matters end-to-end.
  • Strong stakeholder management with ability to build relationships across levels.
  • Experience analysing data to support engagement and ER initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated change management and process improvement capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across management levels.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience delivering against challenging SLAs/KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate a resolution-focused culture to improve business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Site HRBP and Legal Counsel to align on ER issues.
  • Coach and influence managers on ER topics and best practices.
  • Support training of managers on ER processes and responsibilities.
  • Escalate complex high-risk cases with Head of HR/HRBP and Legal Counsel and determine action.
  • Assist Legal Counsel in employment tribunal case preparations.
  • Provide data insights on people trends and support change initiatives.
  • Develop and apply people policies to improve the employee experience and mitigate risk.

Location: Bridgwater or Stroud / Hybrid – 2-3 days per week on site.

Contract: Full-Time, 12-month secondment / Fixed-term contract

Hours: Monday–Friday (40 hours)

As an Employee Relations Partner, you will provide managers with professional support to resolve people related matters, such as long-term absence, disciplinary, grievance, and performance management cases, with the focus on gaining the best outcomes for both the business and employees. Acting as the subject matter expert you will provide advice and support, drive best practice and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures in line with UK employment legislation.

Based on the needs of the partner group, you must be prepared to travel based on the region of sites allocated to build relationships, knowledge and a deep understanding of your partner group.

What you’ll do:
CaseManagement:
  • Advocate a culture which is resolution-focused to improve business outcomes.
  • Work closely with the Site HRBP and internal Legal Counsel to ensure alignment on key ER issues.
  • Coach, guide and influence people managers on people related matters and the best approach to dealing with people related topics, developing their knowledge, capability and confidence.
  • Support the training of people managers on their roles and responsibilities in delivering ER processes.
  • Escalate and advise Head of HR / HRBP and Legal Counsel of any complex high-risk cases or disputes and determine together solutions, course of action, mitigating the risk and any PR exposure.
  • Provide support to Legal Counsel in the preparation for any employment tribunal cases.
Data insights and TrendAnalysis:
  • Proactively support the business with data insights both external and internal on people trends and issues. Work collaboratively with the business to develop improvement strategies and deliver successful people relations program/interventions in support of organisational change.
  • Develop and apply people policies which improve the people experience and employer brand and mitigate risk to the business.
What you’ll bring:
  • Experience in managing employee relations matters of all levels, cradle to grave case management
  • Proven excellent stakeholder management with the ability to adapt to different styles and approaches, quickly building strong and effective working relationships, delivering service excellence
  • Experience of analysing data, providing data insights to support engagement and positive employee relations
  • Deep and up to date understanding of UK employment legislation and best practice and keeping up to date on changes
  • Relevant specialist employment law qualification and or CIPD Associate/Chartered member
  • Passion for CI with experience of working on own initiatives to implement change and operational process improvement
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to interact across all levels of management
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving ability and ability to deliver results to deadlines
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience of working to challenging SLAs/KPIs
