Job description

Copello have partnered with an established engineering business in the recruitment of a Senior Engineering Project Manager. This role offers flexible hybrid working and can be based out of their Stevenage or Bolton office.

Please note candidates must be eligible for BPSS clearance.

As a Senior Engineering Project Manager (SEPM), you will lead the delivery of our most complex and high-priority projects — ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will manage the full lifecycle of advanced electronic sub-systems: from concept and design, through development, and into full-scale production.

This is a senior leadership role within the project management team. You'll play a pivotal part in shaping our delivery strategy while working alongside a talented, multidisciplinary team of engineers and project professionals.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading the planning and delivery of major electronic sub-system projects.
• Driving progress across all project phases: conception, development, implementation, and closure.
• Managing risk, stakeholders, compliance, configuration, and earned value.
• Working closely with Project Controllers (who handle P6 scheduling) and mentoring Engineering Project Coordinators who support your projects.
• Contributing to the strategic development of our delivery capability and project management function.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a motivated individual with a passion for engineering and project delivery. You’ll bring:

• A strong engineering background in electronic systems development.
• A solid understanding of project management best practices, including:
• A proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale engineering projects on time and to cost.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle.
• Strong communication and influencing skills — able to bring others on board with your vision.
