The role

As the Engineering Manager for the ML Compiler team, you'll lead the team responsible for compiling driving models for deployment on embedded SoCs and accelerators on the autonomous vehicle. The focus of this team is to run large transformer-based models efficiently in low-cost, low-power edge devices to enable Wayve's first driving product. This is an exciting opportunity to lead in several high impact, early stage projects at Wayve with the ultimate goal of enabling product deployments onto millions of customer vehicles around the world.

Key responsibilities:

  • You will lead a team of ML Compiler engineers, breaking down large milestones into objectives which can be delivered by yourself and the team
  • Together with tech leads, you'll form the roadmap and execute against it
  • You'll collaborate closely with model developers, kernel engineers and software engineers across the business to drive innovation and delivery
  • You'll have the opportunity to develop new skills and experience
About you

In order to set you up for success as an Engineer Manager at Wayve, we're looking for the following skills and experience.

Essential
  • 2+ years managing a team within a relevant domain (3-10 people)
  • Experience with ML Compilers and/or ML inference, e.g. any of MLIR, ONNX, TensorRT, QNN or similar
  • Strong engineering background
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable
  • Experience working on optimisation problems with hard latency and/or resource constraints
  • Experience with Nvidia and Qualcomm SoCs and frameworks are valuable, but not required
  • Proficiency with Python/C++
