Job summary

A long established Engineering company in Verwood is seeking a CNC Pre-kit and Stores Controller to manage tools and fixtures in a busy CNC workshop. The role requires strong organizational skills and a background in engineering or machinist experience. The successful candidate will work Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 4:30pm and Friday, 7:30am - 12:30pm, earning £14 per hour. This position offers benefits including an excellent holiday scheme and sick pay.

Qualifications

  • Experience in engineering or as an ex-machinist.
  • Can-do approach to work.
  • Experience in a target-driven culture is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of tools and fixtures in production.
  • Issue tools to machine shops as needed.
  • Record and store tools upon return.
  • Negotiate and order tools from suppliers.
  • Keep all records updated.

Job description

We are recruiting for a long established Engineering company who require a CNCPre-kit and Stores Controller to support a busy CNC Workshop.

Weekly hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm & Friday 7:30am - 12:30pm (39 basic)

Salary: £14 per hour (£28,392pa)

Responsibilities:
  • Keeping control and detailed records of all tools and fixtures used in production while in the stores.
  • Issuing of specific tools to the machine shops as required for production.
  • Recording and storing in the correct location the tools upon their return to the stores.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and ordering tools when required.
  • Keeping all records correct and up to date.
Key Skills and Experience:
Essential
  • \"can-do\" approach to work
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • You will have a reasonable understanding of the various types of cutting tools used in CNC machining.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Team Player
  • Suit someone with Engineering experience or an ex-machinist
Desirable
  • Detailed knowledge of working with MRP and Microsoft products
  • Some basic assembly skills and engineering knowledge
  • Experience of daily target driven culture
  • Working in an environment with different competing priorities
