Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Engineering Design Manager to lead multi-disciplinary design across critical national infrastructure projects. You will ensure designs are buildable, compliant, innovative and efficient while working with clients to deliver fit-for-purpose outcomes.

You will supervise design teams, manage interfaces, and foster collaboration with engineering managers, project managers, and consultants to drive successful project delivery and value.

Qualifications

• Strong experience managing design through the full project lifecycle across multiple sectors.
• Understanding of integrated design delivery and managing consultant performance.
• Knowledge and experience of BIM and common data environments (CDE).
• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred with relevant bodies.
• Passionate about construction and customer satisfaction with high standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design input on multi-disciplinary projects from early concepts to delivery.
• Manage design interfaces and technical assurance across teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including clients, engineers, and contractors.
• Drive innovative, practical, and sustainable engineering solutions.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations in all designs.
• Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical functions.
