Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking experienced Engineering Design Managers to join our Real Estate team on prestigious national infrastructure projects. You’ll lead design input from concept to delivery, ensuring buildability, compliance, and sustainable solutions while collaborating with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.

You should have 5+ years of experience managing design through the full lifecycle, plus strong BIM knowledge and CAD experience (AutoCAD or Revit).

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through full lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of integrated design delivery and managing consultant performance.
• Knowledge and experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments.
• Degree qualified, or equivalent, in engineering discipline either Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred (with CIBSE/IMechE or similar).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with a client-focused approach.
• Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical assurance, review constructability, and manage design interfaces.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams of engineers from consultants and partner companies.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, project managers, and contractors on scope and risks.
• Drive innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions that meet requirements.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into all design solutions.
• Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
