Turner & Townsend is recruiting for an Engineering Design Manager to lead design input on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. You will work with clients to ensure builds are compliant, safe, and efficient, from early concepts through delivery.

You will guide technical teams, oversee external consultants, and champion innovative solutions while embedding health and safety in every step. This role suits experienced engineers seeking strategic impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through the full lifecycle.
• Strong BIM knowledge and data environments.
• Degree qualified in mechanical or building services engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred (CIBSE/IMEchE).
• Experience with CAD: AutoCAD or Revit.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Project Manager to manage the contract with external design consultants and contractors.
• Lead technical assurance, review constructability, and manage design interfaces.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams of Engineers from consultants and partner companies.
• Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance, and strategic stakeholders.
• Liaise with Clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Contractors and Consultants.
• Drive innovative, practical, and sustainable engineering solutions.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into all design solutions.
• Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical functions.
• Ensure constructability, maintainability and reliability across the asset lifecycle.
