Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking experienced Engineering Design Managers to join a growing Real Estate team delivering major infrastructure projects. You will guide multi-disciplinary design input from concept through delivery, ensuring solutions are buildable, compliant and efficient while coordinating with clients and consultants.

You will lead design interfaces, manage design teams, and champion practical, sustainable engineering across sectors including data centres, rail and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Strong experience managing design through the full project lifecycle.
• Understanding of integrated design delivery and managing consultant performance.
• Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Work with Project Manager to manage contract with external design consultants and contractors; ensure duties are discharged under the contract.
• Lead technical assurance, review constructability, and manage design interfaces; guide the design process.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams of engineers from consultants and partner companies to produce project solutions.
• Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance, and strategic stakeholders and design coordinators.
• Liaise with Clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Contractors and Consultants on issues, scope changes and risks.
• Drive development of innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions meeting requirements.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into all engineering and design solutions.
• Ensure effective integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical functions.
• Ensure constructability, maintainability and reliability across the asset lifecycle.
