Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an Engineering Design Manager to lead design input on critical national infrastructure projects. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring designs are buildable, compliant, and innovative, from early concepts through delivery.

You will collaborate with clients and project teams to meet governance, safety and regulatory requirements while embedding sustainable engineering solutions across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical disciplines.

Qualifications

• Strong experience managing design through the full project lifecycle across sectors.
• Knowledge and experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and staff.
• Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit).
• Chartered Engineer status preferred (CIBSE, IET or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead design input on multi-disciplinary projects from concept through delivery.
• Manage external design consultants and contractors under contractual requirements.
• Oversee design interfaces and ensure constructability and compliance.
• Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance and strategic stakeholders.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations in design solutions.
• Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical domains.
