Job description
Overview Of Role

Location: West Bromwich

As part of the Engineering management team, the interface between the shift team, Manufacturing and Management, to liaise, when required, expected to action the Engineering activities. Dealing with plant / machinery breakdowns, planned maintenance, shutdowns, refurbishment, installation, improvements and modifications in order to minimise downtime and maintain the equipment in the best possible condition closely working with the Manufacturing FLM group to achieve output.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensuring site Health & Safety standards are maintained with POWRA becoming central to all tasks.
  • To maintain all site plant and equipment, constantly striving to improve machinery availability and performance.
  • Dealing with Engineering suppliers as and when required to ensure all equipment is kept in a running condition.
  • To carry out all Engineering work within expected quality, safety and hygiene standards.
  • Engineering Point of contact for Manufacturing managers.
  • Ensuring all allocated works are completed by the shift utilising EAM fully.
  • Involvement in project work as and when required.
  • To complete a daily shift report and handovers - share with relevant parties.
  • To issue permits to work / contractor control as authorised by the Engineering management team.
  • Responsible for completion of tool box & job audits and ensuring work standards are maintained.
  • To work as part of the operations team to improve line performance in efficiency, quality and safety.
  • Holiday planning for shift, ensuring adequate skills cover at all times.
  • Liaise with Senior Engineering manager to ensure plant output hits target.
  • Provide coverage across 7 days in conjunction with opposite number.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as requested by the Company.
The Right Person

The successful applicant should have experience in machinery and systems development, factory design and layout. They should have planned preventative maintenance experience and must have a relevant qualification in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
