Qualifications

About The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Engineer Assistant to support our Engineering Team. This exciting role provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands‑on experience while undergoing training to progress into a Service Engineer position. As an Engineer Assistant, you will play a crucial part in both field and office-based support, contributing to high levels of customer satisfaction.

This customer‑facing role requires strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and an understanding of customer care. You will be trained on our systems and procedures and have the chance to develop your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Task Management: Use PDA software to receive and manage tasks effectively.
  • Customer Communication: Proactively contact customers with accurate ETAs and notify them of any potential delays.
  • Reporting & Feedback: Complete detailed reports, provide feedback on job performance, and recommend improvements or additional alarms.
  • Safety & Risk Assessments: Perform visual risk assessments and raise any safety concerns with your line manager.
  • Stock Management: Conduct monthly van stock checks and report on parts used to ensure correct procedures.
  • On-the-job Training: Participate in on-the-job training and personal development courses as directed.
Skills And Experience

To succeed in this role, we're looking for candidates who have:

  • Technical Experience: Previous experience with sewage treatment plants, pumping stations, rainwater separators, or similar mechanical/electrical equipment is beneficial but not essential.
  • Electrical/Mechanical Knowledge: A strong foundation in electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Customer Service Skills: The ability to interact professionally with clients and ensure a high level of satisfaction.
  • IT Proficiency: Comfortable using mobile technology and software to manage tasks.
