The Opportunity

Planview’s growing EMEA Professional Services team has an exciting opportunity for a Engagement Manager to join the organization.

The successful candidate will become part of the fast‑paced, high‑energy EMEA Professional Services team, playing a pivotal role in linking Planview’s core value streams to customer outcomes and ensuring value is delivered to our customers.

The Engagement Manager is a customer‑facing domain expert who is delivery‑focused and outcome‑driven, with a passion for delighting customers through the successful delivery of Planview products and services.

Implementations will include Planview solutions such as Project Portfolio Management and Agile Portfolio Management. The successful candidate will demonstrate thought leadership and innovative approaches, consistently delivering exceptional customer experiences at every moment that matters.

In this customer‑obsessed role, the Engagement Manager will work to understand each customer’s desired environment, methodologies, processes, and portfolio or program management approach. They will lead a matrixed Professional Services team to guide customers through the design and implementation of their solutions.

The role carries full accountability for delivering customer implementations from outset to completion, ensuring customers realise value in the shortest possible timeframe while achieving their business outcomes and goals.

The successful candidate will continually strive to exceed Planview’s customer expectations while positively influencing revenue and profitability.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced, high‑volume environment, balancing diverse needs to drive the success of both our customers and our business.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage multiple Professional Services projects from initiation to closure, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget and customer satisfaction.
  • Apply PMI, PRINCE2, and SAFe methodologies & principles in customer projects in terms of break down tasks, create project plans, and manage risks using these frameworks.
  • Maintain PMI, PRINCE 2 certifications.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, issues/risk registers and budgets. Proactively manage project activity to deliver project within as‑sold margins.
  • Ensure resource requirements are reflected accurately in the project plan. Maintain accurate resource allocations (task assignment, effort and duration) in project plan.
  • Lead project teams, assigning tasks, providing direction, and monitoring progress. Ensure project governance structure (e.g., steering committee) is put into place and executed.
  • Proactively identify and address project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed. Escalate at‑risk implementations to ensure timely awareness for PS leadership.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing client expectations and relationships.
  • Facilitate project meetings, including kick‑off meetings, status meetings, and steering committee meetings. Prepare and deliver project status reports and presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development of project proposals and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Proactively manage project financials to ensure accuracy of revenue forecasts. Provide early notice to PS LT of potential slippage, project delays, issues and escalations.
  • Ensure project governance structure (e.g., steering committee) is put into place and executed.
What You’ll Bring
  • Possess skills in conceptualizing creative solutions and communicating them to others including senior management.
  • Ability to articulate the value of Planview Solutions and using your consulting skills to position the prescribed services to achieve the customer’s business outcomes.
  • Ability to develop multiple levels of relationships with the customer to ensure customer acceptance of responsibilities to deploy an effective solution.
  • Provide thought leadership to customers methods and approaches that enable the realization of value from project, portfolio, and resource management practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to closure.
  • Must have demonstrated understanding of the implementation approach elements including:
  • Business outcome definition
  • Linking of key analytics and decisions to business outcomes
  • Workshop facilitation to ensure discussions remain within scope.
  • Assess and advise on process design and documentation.
  • Provide quality professional services deliverables, executive‑level presentations, and status reporting.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience responding and resolving conflicting issues and customer requirements in a variety of customer or client situations and personalities.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and show patience within a variety of customer situations.
  • Work independently and have experience in lean Agile transformation projects.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 60%
  • Experience with a variety of software platforms and delivery methods including web‑based and cloud‑based systems, SQL and basic technology tools including MS Office, MS Visio, MS SharePoint, MS Reporting Services, etc.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of legacy and current ALM solutions, i.e. Jira, ADO, Rally, CollabNet, HP‑ALM, Jira Align (AgileCraft), VersionOne, Octane, etc.
  • Experience in guiding teams on Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, SAFe, etc.).
  • Strong collaborator and team player working with the broader Planview consulting team to ensure customer success.
  • Prior experience with Project governance, Project and Portfolio Management and/or financial reporting tools.
Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Management of Information Science, or Business (or related degree) or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • A minimum of six years of client‑facing consulting experience with an ability to demonstrate previous results across different industry sectors.
  • Broad understanding of software implementation, quality assurance, business process analysis, organization change management and system integrations.
  • Cross functional knowledge of technical domain based on the product(s) supported (e.g., strategic and financial planning, lean portfolio management, project/resource management, enterprise architecture, product development lifecycle etc.).
  • Ability to learn and apply industry knowledge and understanding of the business to drive revenue.
  • Ability to gain deep technical knowledge of product(s) supported.
  • Agile certifications a plus (e.g., SAFe Agilest, SPC, LPM, CSM, CPO, PMI, etc.).
  • Experience in ALM tool integration technologies and APIs a plus (e.g., TaskTop, OpsHub, ConnectAll, etc.).
  • Related certifications or industry designations (e.g., PMP, CPA, PRINCE2, TOGAF, ITIL etc.).
