Job summary

Octopus Energy is seeking an experienced Social Worker to support customers and colleagues in a fast-paced environment. The role is primarily office-based in Brighton with frequent travel to assist customers and team members.

You will assess needs, develop support plans, and liaise with local authorities as required. Ideal candidates hold a Social Work Degree and are registered with Social Work England, with at least 5 years post-qualifying experience.

Qualifications

• Social Work Degree and current registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum 5 years post qualifying Social Work experience (ASYE required).
• Experience in adult social care, ideally with mental health exposure (AMHP).
• Ability to use initiative to handle sensitive customer scenarios and deliver outcomes.
• Driver with access to a car is preferred and occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers with varying needs, conduct needs assessments and support plans, and refer to local authorities as appropriate.
• Assess needs and consider ability to pay, recommending best support options.
• Signpost to sources of help and proactively offer suitable support packages.
• Carry out follow-ups to ensure cases progress to resolution.
• Collaborate with other agencies and make referrals when needed.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines.
• Provide ongoing dynamic support to energy specialists.
