Job summary

Octopus Energy is seeking a passionate, empathetic Social Worker to support customers and colleagues from our Coventry office. The role is office-based to ensure timely help and collaboration.

You’ll conduct assessments and support plans, refer to local authorities when appropriate, signpost customers to available assistance, and follow up on cases to resolution. Qualifications

• Social Work Degree and current registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum 5 years post qualifying Social Work experience (ASYE required).
• Practice Educator qualification is highly desired.
• Experience in adult social care and mental health awareness is beneficial.
• Ability to use initiative and build rapport with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and support plans and refer to local authorities where appropriate, ensuring safeguarding concerns are recognised.
• Conduct needs assessments and assess ability to pay; advise on best course of action to support the customer.
• Signpost customers to available sources of help and proactively offer relevant support packages.
• Carry out customer follow-ups so cases can be followed through to resolution.
• Work with other agencies and, where appropriate, make referrals.
• Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines.
• Offer ongoing dynamic support to energy specialists.
