Job summary

Octopus Energy is seeking a passionate social worker to join our team. The role is on-site at our UK offices and focuses on supporting customers and colleagues with empathy in fast-paced environments.

You’ll conduct needs assessments, recognise safeguarding concerns, and refer to local authorities where appropriate, while building rapport with customers. A Social Work Degree with current registration in Social Work England is required, ASYE preferred, and a willingness to travel between UK

Qualifications

• Social Work Degree and current registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum 5 years post qualifying Social Work experience (ASYE required).
• Practice Educator qualification is highly desired.
• Experience in adult social care, ideally with mental health exposure.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with colleagues and to handle sensitive cases.

Responsibilities

• Work with a range of customers with various needs, conduct assessments and support plans, and refer to local authorities when appropriate.
• Assess needs and consider customers’ ability to pay, advising on best support actions.
• Signpost customers to sources of help and offer suitable support packages.
• Carry out customer follow-ups to ensure case resolution.
• Collaborate with other agencies and make relevant referrals as needed.
• Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines.
• Provide ongoing dynamic support to energy specialists.
