Role Overview

As an Energy Contract Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our communities have reliable and efficient energy supplies. Working as part of the Energy and Heat Network Team, you will coordinate energy supply, metering, and billing for communal energy supplies, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You will support improvements in energy services through data analysis, trend monitoring, and proactive issue resolution. This role involves managing technical, administrative, and customer service functions across our portfolio, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver exceptional service and service improvements.

What you'll be doing
  • Investigate metering and billing issues with third‑party contractors.
  • Collate and validate data for tariff setting and service charges.
  • Ensure energy data is accurate, reliable, and up to date to support decision‑making.
  • Analyse consumption trends and provide insights to inform performance and investment decisions.
  • Support contract management and lead on changes or improvements where required.
  • Support budget holders in annual service charge setting and variance analysis.
  • Provide accurate, timely data for reporting and forecasting.
  • Work with energy brokers to manage supply connections and obtain meter readings.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries and coordinate meter installations/upgrades.
  • Use Energy Management Systems and broker software to monitor consumption and costs.
  • Develop accurate datasets for energy supplies and consumption forecasts.
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives that improve energy efficiency, processes and customer experience.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Confident in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Knowledge of energy tariffs, billing, or heat network legislation.
  • Understanding of service charge processes and compliance (desirable).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in analysing data and producing clear reports to support decisions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong communication skills for cross‑organisational collaboration.
